Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Gisele, the gorgeous tortie! Gisele came to the Shelter after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. Gisele was in a home with a lot of activity previously (another cat, young children, and dogs) and would thrive in a more relaxed, cat savvy home. Her guardians reported that she started inappropriately eliminating, which is typically a flag that a cat is stressed. The flurry of activity in her previous home was likely the cause of her stress as, when observed in a more controlled environment, Gisele has been using her litterbox reliably. A cat savvy adopter that can provide a low-stress environment and patience as Gisele transitions to the new home is required. Staff can provide guidance for adopters to aid in setting Gisele (and her adopters) up for success!Gisele’s favorite activities in her previous home were sitting in people’s laps and playing with toys. Her favorite treat is dried liver. In her previous home, Gisele did have access to the outdoors (in a supervised way) and a similar set up in her next home could be appropriate. If you are looking for a friendly, affectionate tortie to be your new companion – look no further than Gisele. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
