Meet Joey, the gray & white male cat. Joey came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardian could no longer care for him. Upon intake, Joey was tentative to interact with staff and volunteers but with time and patience, he warmed up. Staff and volunteers describe him as such a sweet guy who enjoys his Churro and leans into peopleâs hands for TLC. Joey came into the Shelter with other cats but we are not so sure of his relationships with them. A home with a resident cat may be a fit provided there is a slow introduction and observation. We do not have any history of Joey with children or dogs. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
