Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Yvette, the brown tabby adolescent kitty!Yvette has been in the Shelter for over 100 days and is itching to get into an adoptive home. She came into the Shelter as a stray on 9/21/24 with some other cats. The other cats have since been adopted. Staff aren’t quite sure why Yvette has been overlooked in the Shelter but we are hoping that shining a spotlight on her helps to draw the right adopter into the Shelter to fall in love. Yvette is a pretty easy gal to love. She loves enjoying new places and things. She is looking to bond with her guardian through play and affection (although it may be on her terms, typical of some kitties). Although Yvette came in with some kitties, she has not seemed keen on meeting new feline friends at the Shelter. A home with a very cat savvy cat and a thoughtful, slow introduction may be a fit in the future but Yvette may be just has happy being the apple of someone’s eye. We do not have any history of Yvette with children or dogs. As Yvette came in as a stray, she has some “street smarts” and may be a fit for a home looking for a kitty to sunbathe while they enjoy their morning coffee on the porch. The Shelter recommends acclimation periods for all adoptive cats prior to any introduction to the outdoors. If an adopter does decide to introduce to the outdoors, supervision is strongly recommended to ensure safety for their new companion. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
