Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Kalahari is a beautiful dark orange girl. Kalahari and her sister were an owner surrender after they were found in a barn. They were brought into the house, but the owners decided they didn't want cats in the house. Kalahari gets along with all the resident cats and foster kittens in her foster home. It will take her a little while to come to you. She hid for a couple of hours when she first arrived in her foster home, but then came out confidently to explore, play, and interact with the other kitties. She is wet food motivated (chunks in gravy please - no pate as she will waste it). After a couple of days, she approached her foster humans for love and attention. If you walk by her, she will sit up, then put her head down for you to rub the back of her neck; her favorite spot. Kalahari wasn't excited about being held, but has learned that being carried, cuddled, and receiving attention feels pretty good. She does like to snuggle with her humans in bed; not on the lap yet, but maybe over time. Kalahari recently met a dog and was not a fan. A quiet home with other cats would be ideal for her. Kalahari was born around August 2, 2024. She is currently being fostered in Naugatuck. She is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV*. All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved. Applications for adoption can be found at https://www.fosterandforever.org/ Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24 - 48 hrs.
