Hi! I'm Joey! My handsome fur is all white, except for a kiss of brown atop my head. I like to make amusing faces that highlight my golden eyes. I often look skeptical, even when asking for pets. I've been known to stick out my tongue for no reason. Once, I even stood on my hind legs to get a good look at what Josie, my calico best friend, was doing. I enjoy climbing up and jumping down our cat tree, as well as chasing feather wand toys. I show my appreciation for pets and gentle massages by purring. I'm food motivated. If food is in front of me, I'll tolerate having my nails clipped. I can also tolerate being briefly lifted, but I generally avoid getting picked up. Like Josie, who I need to be adopted with, I would do best in a calm home with an experienced and patient adopter.I'm likely two years older than Josie. We were found wandering Chicago alleys together as hungry strays. We were thought to be feral at first, because we were so fearful. We were surgically ear tipped as a result. However, our kind rescuer discovered that we just needed some time to adjust to a new space before showing our people-friendly side. It's not known how Josie and I got together, but we sure do love each other! Our foster parents believe we're good with other cats. We've been calm during the introduction process with their resident cats. The resident cats growled and hissed at us. However, we didn't do anything in return besides quietly watch them and wonder why they were so stressed. We enjoy being pampered, laid back house cats, playing chase (Josie is often the instigator), and wrestling. We're great at keeping ourselves occupied while our foster parents are busy.
