Female Cat, Tabby
Tabby / Domestic Short Hair (Short Coat)
Description:
Be sure to read my FULL BIO all the way down to my vetting and how to apply. Not all sites will show the full bio, so if needed please go to www.rockersrescue.org and click on adoptable pets to be sure you are reading all details. The animals have multiple pictures to view. (on our site click "view more" under the main photo, or scroll to the bottom to see the rest.) We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet inside one of our adoption partners locations which are Hollywood Feed, Shreveport or in PetSmart, Shreveport. Violet - Female Kitten. Tabby. Already altered. Est Birthday Oct 4, 2024. History: This darling little girl found herself at Bossier City Animal Control after being trapped. We go there weekly to take pictures and network the cats. My 12yr old daughter happened to be with me one day and when she saw Violet she just HAD to bring her home to foster. Violet was scared and hissy. She was actually already spayed and ear tipped to be a tnr. Within an hour my daughter had her wearing a dress, purring and making biscuits! Personality: Violet LOVES people now. She is all about rubbing on your hands and purring. At her vet check she actually couldn't even have her heartbeat listened to because she kept purring so much. She likes toys. Playful. Uses the litterbox. She would thrive best with another kitty friend so that she can learn claws are sharp. She can be a bit rough playing. We currently can't provide her a friend because her medical isn't cleared yet. She has allowed dogs to come up and sniff her. She gives a hiss if scared. I feel like she will adapt well to a calmer one. She may still be nervous/shy in new scenarios. She's currently in quarantine with a kitty condo and a room to herself. She likes to lay on the bed and cuddle too. She does almost like a nursing nibble and kisses to your fingers. With her being in a new environment, we suggest starting her off with her harness and leash in the home and keeping her near so she can't go hide under something. That's what we did and she quickly was brave and able to let roam within a day or so. Medical: Kitten will have at least 2 rounds of vaccinations/booster vaccines. (Vets give at least 3 sets, each set being a certain amount of weeks apart.) Got rabies vaccine at spay appointment. Dewormed. Treated for coccidia tummy parasite and now has negative fecal. On monthly flea/tick prevention. When you adopt, you will get a folder with their medical records to bring to your vet. Kitten will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue donations will have already paid for it. Was ear tipped at her spay appointment by the shelter. This is a sign that cats are altered. mainly used for ones outdoors. This kitten is NOT ALLOWED OUTDOORS. Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kitten/cats. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you. ADOPTION: $40 adoption donation for approved application. Our rescue spends a LOT more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives. Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo! We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too!
