Description:
DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting. ***** Maggie is 10yo, weighs 7lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, is microchipped, and is FeLV/FIV negative, as her veterinary records will substantiate. Maggie's guardian adds: "She dislikes dogs, scared of new people in the home, gets nervous when you touch her unexpectedly, and does not like to be picked up or held. During car rides, she often meows and cries, but is okay in a crate in the car." Maggie's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "She does not do well with other pets and has started peeing outside her litter box. We have tried everything to prevent her from peeing outside the litter box, but no changes. We think she will do better as an only pet in a calm environment." Maggie's guardian states the following regarding children: Maggie doesn't live with children, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "She is very timid and usually hides when new people come to the house. She has never interacted with anyone below the age of 18". Maggie's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Maggie lives with a dog, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She is very fearful and wants her space. Anytime our dog gets near her she will hiss to try to get him away from her including chasing him, growling, and even scratching if he gets too close. When he is not in her bubble, they get along fine". Maggie's guardian states the following regarding cats: Maggie lives with a cat, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She does well with our other cat; they play together, sleep together, eat together, etc. But, she did not take to him for almost a year and having a new animal in the house is what started her peeing outside the litter box. So while they get along wonderfully now, the behavioral peeing has not stopped". Maggie's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Quiet Playful Friendly Shy Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Maggie's guardian describes her ideal future home: "The best home for Maggie would be with an older couple or a single person who is home often and is fine with only having one cat. This person is willing to play with her every day (she loves strings, like soft measuring tapes, as toys) and will give her love and treats often, as she is very affectionate, but timid. They are experienced with cats and have a good routine that they can stick to most days, if not every day." Rehoming Fee: None Location: Owings Mills, Maryland***** ADOPTION PROCESS 1.
