Description:
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Rumble and Vader are a bonded pair of 3 and 4 year old boys. They were not litter mates but need to stay together due to their strong bond. Here's what their foster human says about them: How would you describe the cat's general personality? - Rumble is a sweet and curious cat who loves being around people and almost never wants to be alone. He’ll happily let you pet him, snuggle up beside you, and explore every corner of your home.Vader enjoys his independence but still has a soft spot for attention. While he may not be as cuddly as Rumble, he’ll come to you when he’s ready for affection! Does the cat enjoy being pet? - Yes! If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? - They seem to prefer being pet near their head and under their chin. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? - They don't like being patted on their butts. They also don't like it when you touch their paws. But even for these areas, they’ve never scratched or hissed at me when I touch them. Does the cat come on your lap? - Rumble almost always does. He loves sitting on your leg, in between your legs, on your stomach, etc. Vader occasionally does, but when I start petting him, he will go away. Does the cat like to be held? - They both don't really like being held for more than 10 seconds. However, if you're sitting, you could hold Rumble in your arms. Does the cat sleep in your bed? - Occasionally. When they do, Rumble sleeps right next to you, and Vader sleeps at the foot of the bed. Does the cat seek your attention? - Rumble loves attention, and it's obvious since he sits next to you when you're sitting on the couch, cooking in the kitchen, etc. If your door is closed and he knows you're in there, you might find him sitting in front of it. Vader likes being alone for most of the day but will come to you and start meowing. If you start petting him, he goes away. Does the cat like to play? - Rumble: likes to play with things that he can catch and chew. You have to be pretty active with the toy as well to keep him engaged. - Vader: has never shown much interest in toys on strings. I found out that if you throw little treats, he'll run to it and play with it a bit before eating it. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? - Rumble: toys on strings/fishing poles, things you can chew - Vader: things he can chew and eat, small treats or balls that you can throw around How vocal is the cat? - Rumble: cries if you won't open the door to your room (often in the morning) but only does this for a minute or two (not very loud) - Vader: comes to you and starts meowing at random points of the day for a couple of minutes - could either mean he's hungry or wants a treat or wants attention(?) (he is a bit louder than Rumble) What kinds of sounds does the cat make? - Meowing noises Does the cat scratch a scratcher? - Yes. I have a pole-shaped scratcher and a cardboard one that's shaped like a mat. They use the pole every day -- sometimes to stretch after sitting or laying for a while. The mat one was used for a day or two, and then I think they got bored of it. If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box? - Yes. I have 2 litter boxes for them. They started off using different litter boxes but eventually started using both. It seems like the bigger litter box is where both of them poop. It might be better to have two similar-sized litter boxes. If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? - They each get around 1/3 cup of dry food (Purina One Tender Selects) three to four times a day. I just keep an eye on the food bowl and make sure there's always some dry food in addition to a full water bowl. I sometimes substitute one of their meals with 1.3oz of wet food (Sheba Perfect Portions Wet Food Cuts in Gravy). They seem to like the gravy more than the actual bits of wet food so I sometimes just use the gravy as a topper. Rumble almost always can't finish a serving in one go. Vader is more food-motivated and a larger cat, but he doesn't eat a lot more than Rumble. Is the cat picky about food? - Not really. Rumble is a bit more picky than Vader. They both aren't that interested in people food. What is the cat's favorite treat? - They both loveeeeeee Churu. Vader will also play with and eat dry treats but Rumble has shown no interest in them. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? - Rarely. Vader likes to roll around on the floor, and sometimes, I try to get dust or a little fluff off of his fur. he has swat at me (claws in) occasionally. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? - No Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? - No Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? - No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? - Rumble is very social so he will go up to new people. Vader is a bit more cautious but depending on his mood, he'll go up to and rub his head on new people. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? - Rumble is soooo curious. He will want to sniff and feel different textures. You can give him all the love and he will reciprocate it. Rumble has these golden yellow eyes and the cutest voice. Vader is a more of a cool cat. He knows how to push and pull. It may take a little longer to earn his trust, but it'll be so worth it when he chooses to sit on your lap for the first time. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? - Rumble and Vader are such gentle cats. I've never had a cat let me pet them this much without hissing or running away. They're opposites in many ways, but their similarity is that they just want you to give them love and attention. You get the best of both worlds with the two of them.
