Description:

Hi there! They call me Battman (because of my mask or something?), and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I am a total lovebug and a complete goofball, according to my foster mom! But I haven't really had a lot of experience living in a home with humans before now, so I'm still a little bit nervous and hesitant with new places and friends. See, my siblings and I were taken in by a kind old lady when we were kittens. She loved us and cared for us as best she could, but her health wasn't the greatest either and it wasn't long before we were pretty much on our own. Family members found out we were there and got us into our foster home after not too long, thankfully! My foster home is pretty great. It was kind of a lot to take in at first! I went from a little house where I mostly hung out with my (feline) brothers to a big house with multiple humans, other cats, HUGE dogs!!... So, you can understand how it might take a cat a little time to feel safe in a place like this. But, I gotta tell ya, I've learned a lot from meeting all these new friends! I feel safest if there's another friendly cat around. I'll take a little time settling into my new home, either way, but I trust other cats easily and they help show me the way. Pets are LIFE. I can't believe I missed out on them for so long! Have you ever been pet before?! Man, once my foster mom gets to petting down my back, I just can help but to start rolling all around on the ground! But, really, it helps her not have to move her hand so much, so... Teamwork makes the dreamwork, am I right!? Dogs and me are a work in progress. My foster mom made me check the box that I'm ok with them. I'll admit, I'm intrigued. My brother who's also staying here seems to really enjoy them! And he and I are a lot alike, so she's probably not wrong in her assumption that I'll learn to like them... I'll keep you posted on that one, though. So that's that! I'm just hoping to find a new home (maybe one a little more calm than my foster home?) with a cat buddy and people who won't mind me doing somersaults across the floor when they rub my cheeks and get my itchy spots. Sound like that might be you? Fill out an app so we can chat some more!! Can't wait to hear from you!! Battman is from an owner surrender with 4 siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
