Description:
Meet Spitzy! This delightful little girl has a personality as unique as her name. Once she feels safe and secure, she’s a bundle of affection, loving cuddles, and quality time with her chosen human. She’s often found rolling next to you for pets and purring away in her soothing, rumbling way. Spitzy is truly a one-person kind of cat, preferring to form a deep bond with someone special. Don’t let her sweetness fool you—Spitzy’s got a charming sassy side! She has strong opinions and isn’t shy about letting you know when she needs her space. Her sass, however, is all in good fun and part of what makes her so endearing. She does best with patient humans who can give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and show off her affectionate side. Spitzy has a few adorable quirks that make her even more special. Her meow is almost non-existent—she tries, but it comes out as the softest little sound, which just adds to her charm. She’ll greet you with chirps and tiny meows, demanding attention in her gentle, unique way. This independent lady enjoys bursts of playtime but is generally calm and low-energy, happy to chill in her own space when she’s not in the mood for cuddles. She loves having a feline friend to play with and has quickly bonded with her foster sibling. However, she does best with respectful companions who honor her boundaries and personal space. Spitzy needs a home that will continue to build her confidence and show her she is safe. With love, patience, and understanding, she’ll thrive and become an incredible companion. Are you ready to meet this sweet, sassy, and oh-so-quirky girl? Watch this video of Spitzy snuggling with her foster parent! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
