Domestic Short Hair (Short Coat)
Description:
Kala - Female DOB 7/18/2023 Domestic Short Hair Tabby - Meet Kala! With her precious baby face, playful nature and coat of many colors, Kala is sure to steal your heart. Her coat is truly amazing with its swatches of heather gray, brown tabby, hints of orange and a touch of white. Kala is the biggest sweetheart, especially when she looks at you with those big beautiful eyes, talking to you with her cute little meow when she sees you walking towards her with a plate of food, or one of her favorite treats, the Delectable Squeeze Ups. She is so adorable! Kala likes to run around and play with toys or just have an occasional zoomy run, but is also happy to sit quietly on her own. She loves playing with the feather wand toy and laser light. Kala is also a great helper, whenever the volunteers take out the medication notebook, she quickly lays down on top of it to assist! She is often found laying in an empty fancy feast box that stays on the counter in the main room just for her to keep the volunteers company. She enjoys lap time where she can be pet while purring loudly, looking up at you with her adoring eyes. She just loves pets and attention. Kala would do well in a home with another friendly cat that likes some playtime but is not overly energetic. She would also be fine as your only kitty getting all the attention. She would be fine with respectful older children and possibly a gentle cat friendly dog. Kala had a condition called Stomatitis, which can be a very painful condition, resulting from inflammation of the mouth tissue. The condition is treated by having a partial or full mouth extraction. Kala has had most of her teeth extracted, though we continue monitoring to make sure she is not in pain, and she was on a daily dose of a mild pain medication until recently. This has not however diminished her desire for her wet food and snacks. She eats dry food just fine as well. Her recent health check has determined that she no longer has stomatitis!
