Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Description:

*To meet or adopt MC, please submit a Q&A for him on our website: https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! We are not able to reply to DMs, emails or inquiries made through 3rd party pet adoption websites.*Age: adult, approximately 6 years as of 12/1/2023*Temperament: feisty, playful, sweet, energetic, food-motivated*MC would do best in a home with another playful feline companion*MC has diabetes and needs a small dose of insulin twice a day (estimated cost of $80/month). For this reason, his adoption fee has been reduced to just $25!You'd never know it from his handsome glamour shot profile pic, but MC came into our care severely diabetic and in a state of ketoacidosis. Local vet Animal Kind helped us get him stabilized and on a medication regimen. Now in foster care, MC's ready for his next step!Because he had been suffering for so long before he came to us, we're still getting to know who MC is when he feels good & healthy! So far, he allows pats but can be spicy & fresh. After he's had his dinner and medicine, he'll let you touch his head and pat him, and might snuggle himself behind your knees as you sit on the couch. He's VERY playful, and really wants to play with another cat. He'd make an excellent brother to a confident cat who can hold their own and won't be intimidated by the intensity of MC's athleticism.Because of his diabetes, MC is VERY food motivated. At first, he was food insecure which resulted in resource guarding. His medication dosage has helped with that greatly but we'd still recommend feeding him separately from your other cat(s) and picking up uneaten dinner bowls so that he doesn't scavenge. To meet or adopt MC, please submit a Q&A for him on our website: https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt!-------GOOD HOME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, SNAP tested and microchipped. Our adoption process includes an application, a friendly conversation, a quick home check, a contract and an adoption fee of $250 per cat (which helps us cover veterinary care) and $150 for seniors or cats with manageable illnesses. The fee is $25 for FeLV+ or cats that require especially high levels of ongoing care.
