Description:
Our sweet Dixie came to us over 2 years ago. We often don't know much about our animals' past life but we wonder what type of life Dixie had. She's been quite shy since we've had her and always seems like she's waiting for something bad to happen. When people visit her room, she often makes herself hidden or simply shuts her eyes and tenses up. She has reluctantly accepted continued visits and head scratches from one of our volunteers. We're not sure but she may actually be somewhat enjoying it in this video. Dixie is an older gal, almost 7 years old and deserves to retire to a home where she can finally relax. All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee. Learn more about our Adoption Information here and fill out an application here.
