Pam is a super sweet cat who was surrendered to PAWS with her roaming partner, Steve (a young orange tabby). They were well known in a NW OKC neighborhood for their sweet natures and were surrendered to PAWS-OK so we could find them a home. Unfortunately when we took them to the vet, we discovered that both of them are FIV positive. This virus is not deadly to healthy young cats but is transferable through mating and serious fighting (deep penetrating bites). If you are looking for a pair of cats these may be a great pick or if you want to adopt just one, it would need to be either an only cat or live with another FIV cat and be kept indoor only to prevent spread. Pam loves everyone and is submissive to Steve who is a bit more alpha. PAWS-OK is a small foster based non profit rescue operating in the OKC area since 2008. All our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, up-to-date on their vaccines, litterbox trained and fostered in a volunteers home. We are committed to placing our rescues in the most loving homes that we can, regardless of how long it takes. Our kittens are kept with their mothers for as long as possible and not offered for adoption until they are at least 16 weeks of age. A handful of our available felines can be seen in the PetSmart Adoption Center in Rockwell Plaza (8357 N Rockwell) during normal store hours.
