Description:
Imani is a feisty little teen who’s had a rough start to life. First she had a bad femur break that required surgery in order to keep her leg. That was especially lucky, because once her leg had healed it became clear that something else was going on, because, while Imani’s able to walk, she’s still a wobbly little thing. The same awesome vet who performed her surgery said that, now she can see Imani’s walk, she probably has cerebeller hypoplasia too. Not to worry though, CH is just a neurological condition that isn’t contagious and isn’t progressive, and imani life shouldn’t be impacted by it beyond her balance and floppy walk. Imani’s case also seems to be pretty mild, as she can keep her balance well most of the time, and while she needs to pay extra attention to where she steps, she can move at a good clip when she has a destination in mind or is chasing after her foster siblings. Despite all her setbacks, Imani still loves life and is a wild child who doesn’t realize she has any limitations at all. She can run when she wants something, pull herself up a couch or cat tree and can even go down stairs (though she hasn’t quite figured out how to get back up yet!). She can be a little wary of other exuberant cats until she gets comfortable with them and isn’t a huge fan of dogs, but has loved all the humans she’s met and just wants to snuggle up for pets before racing around again. She loves playing with her foster siblings and running after them, though wrestling with them is still something she’s getting comfortable with. Imani may not be the most coordinated and still a bit floppy and wobbly, but she’s absolutely determined to be just like any other cat and never sees an obstacle she can’t overcome. A special kitten like Imani needs a special adopter that can give her a life full of toys and bird watching and snuggles and understands her double challenges just make her double special.
