Description:

An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes. Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please! Sylvester loves to snuggle near you, lay in your lap or beside your leg. This boy was outside in a dog crate during the NC hurricane. He was still inside his crate when he was found the next day! This amazing boy acted as if nothing happened around him. He purrs all the time and a great biscuit maker. He is playful and l oves his fishing pole toy . He would enjoy a home with kids, dogs, cats and thrive on the activity and attention. FFGW took him in and he's had a full v et work up and is ready to go. Yes, he has FIV, but the FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt! FIV is not transmissible to people or to non-cat species and is not a death sentence. It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life. Cat to cat transmission does not occur with casual contact and it is not airborne. Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives! Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting: https://www.fivcats.com/FIV/fiv_introduction.html https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
