Female Cat, Torbie

Torbie / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Risotto (a volunteer gave her the nickname of Rizzy or Riz) was brought to us with her siblings as a kitten. She was by far the smallest (and sickest) of 4 sibling kittens. She was just spicy enough to survive and become a beautiful cat. Rizzy has grown up at our shelter but continues to hope her person will come for her soon. She is somewhat reserved and it may take a bit for her to warm up, but once she does she couldn't be sweeter. She has strong bonds with certain volunteers and will come out of a cat tree cubie when called. She loves to find a lap or perch to roll and put out her belly so you know its "Rizzy time". This a special girl who is just hoping that all this waiting was for her perfect person or family to find her. She would be great as a solo cat or with another relaxed cat. You will catch her and Ruthie snuggling in a cubby together occasionally. She is not aggressive over resources (food) or exceptionally curious where she would get into everything. She is fine to be picked up and carried by those she trusts, she loves to be loved on, and appreciates a kiss on the forehead once in awhile. **Some important information to consider regarding Risotto** Risotto was diagnosed with Stomatitis. Stomatitis is NOT contagious. It is a generalized inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth. The cause is often unknown but for Risotto it could be related to the conditions in her early life. Extraction of some or all teeth is often recommended as this is proven to have the greatest effect on stomatitis; however, some cases won’t fully resolve after extraction and still need medical management. Risotto had a full mouth extraction and her symptoms did not completely resolve initially. She was treated with a steroid medication and since been able to discontinue that medication and is doing wonderful! For Risotto routine health assessments to keep her condition stable will be important. Risotto's adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative and microchip. If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please submit an online adoption application at our website: littleorphans.org Give our Adoption Team 2-5 business days to process the info on the app and contact all references. They communicate primarily by email, so watch your inbox (and spam folder) for messages. Upon approval a volunteer will call you to arrange a private appointment to meet all the cats.
