Malibu Bu Bear (A136531) is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu who weighed just over 18 pounds on intake! 11/07/24 This handsome little man is Malibu Bu Bear â the Bu Bear! Bu Bear is looking for a special home that can meet his needs. He appreciates his space and can get nippy if pushed past his comfort zone. He would appreciate a home without small children. He was said to do well with the older grandchildren (10+). Bu Bear was said to like his kennel as a safe place but is not necessarily kennel trained. His owner would give him treats when she needed to get him out of his hidey space. This also worked well if trying to get something away from him that he isn't supposed to have! Just ask him if he wants a `scooby snack!` His previous owner also noted that Bu Bear has a bit of sensitive stomach, especially when it comes to people food, so it would be in his next owner's best interest to not give him table scraps. Bu Bear was said to be potty pad trained but was known to have accidents when he was stressed. He is looking for a patient owner that can respect his boundaries and work with his needs. Bu Bear was said to know the commands sit and stay. He has been taught to sit before meals and leashing, and his release command is `break!` He does jump up on people to say and was said to generally like new people that he encounters.
