Female Dog, Cane Corso Mastiff
Cane Corso Mastiff (Medium Coat)
Description:
Bear was originally turned in by her owner. She is a young, smart, dog who can learn to adapt to a new home, if she has the right human who is willing to put the time in to work with her. She was recently adopted by a family who had other dogs, and she got along with them fine. She was quickly returned when she started to be aggressive with their miniature horse who was also part of the pack. She was then sent to a Foster Home, where she was doing well, until she jumped up on the couch to eat a treat. When the Foster Parent went to shoo her off, she snapped at him and bit his hand. Although the bite was minor, Bearâs adoption requirement has elevated to âExperienced Onlyâ. The Kennel Staff and Volunteers who work with her, feel that Bear is trainable and that she is a loving, affectionate, girl. She just needs someone who recognizes signs of concern and works through those with her. She will need a home with no children, no horses, an experienced owner who has the time to train and socialize properly, and lots of love.Bear seems to be pretty well potty/housed trained, yet all new surroundings might take a bit of time to adjust and learn the rules. She is good on a leash but pulls a little. She loves to play with toys and would be a good companion for another dog her size and matched energy. She loves belly rubs and is a world famous cuddler.
