German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (Medium Coat)
Description:
Social at the kennel front with ears back, soft body and low tail wag. Bit of an eager lunger on leash, but suspect can settle to a moderate pace once not at the shelter. Tolerant and engaged for handling, but easily distracted. Also somewhat anxious, seemed to be seeking an an exit quite a bit- but not antisocial. Just wanting to `go home`. Showed no interest in toys at this time, but eager to gauge the dogs within sight. Avoided the gaze and turned away from a bold barking dog on a fence line. Did some indirect but civil inquires with an injured GSD slightly younger male being taken on a pottie break. She eventually gave him a play bow. She was formally introduced to a senior medium sized male dog where they gave each other some respectful greets. She clearly outranked him but there was no contention. Mildly interested in treats and ate the higher value ones, but not food obsessed at this time anyways. She was more interested in interaction with people, but perhaps as a tool for exit.Needs a sympathetic leadership home with rules dedicated to training and exercise who will allow her time to acclimate and adjust to her new home.
