Meet Aurora (Rory) ~ This sweet pup and her siblings had a very rough start, but things are looking up now and she's ready to go to a good home. Aurora's foster mom writes: Axel and Aurora (Rory) are German Shepherd and Doberman mix pups. At 13 ½ weeks old, these pups are going to be large. Born in the elements in Fresno where it was obvious the mom and dad had been dumped in an orchard, a good Samaritan started caring for the family, providing food and water and reached out for assistance to a local rescue, Mell’s Mutts. Mell immediately went to social media looking for assistance for any of the pups to get them out of the cold and offer them a future. Weeks went by with no offer, as we all know that rescues are over burdened already with the number of homeless pets needing help. After following her posts, I knew I had to step up and help how I could and offered to take in two of the pups. Shortly after several other rescues stepped up and all the pups have now been removed from the Orchard, except for one puppy who unfortunately succumbed to the elements. Mell’s rescue has fixed the adult dogs to ensure there will be no more unwanted puppies, and they have been returned to the water treatment plant near where they had been abandoned, and the good Samaritan has promised to continue to care for them as Mell will continue to try to find them another solution. Axel and Rory are doing fabulous, and they are the sweetest little puppies. These pictures do not really do them justice, as they were a bit photo shy and decided hanging out in their crate was the safest escape from the scary phone taking pictures.
