Description:

Oh, how we love Freckles! Freckles is estimated to be about 10 months old and she is the sweetest little ball of love. She is the epitome of a sweetheart and she is quick to make you fall in love with her gentle demeanor and soulful big brown eyes. She is such an affectionate girl who loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for some cuddles. Freckles currently weighs around 40lbs. We don't think she will get much bigger, but she may fill out a little. Freckles came into our care from a local shelter after she was placed on the euthanasia list due to space. She found her way into the shelter after being found as a stray after likely being hit by a car and sustaining a fractured leg. The UC Davis Fracture Program was able to get her all healed up and she has been such a fabulous girl healing in her foster home. She just got the all-clear from her surgeons and she's ready to start her new life with her fur-ever family! Freckles is the best of both worlds. She loves to play and seems like she would be a great adventure buddy, but she also is a big cuddle bug who enjoys chilling on the cough and snuggling in bed. She loves everyone she meets and her philosophy is the more the merrier when it comes to making new friends. She seems to have had some basic training but is still a puppy and would benefit from continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. She is very much food motivated which makes training easier. Due to her easygoing personality, she could be a great first dog for someone who can dedicate the time to continue her training. Freckles has done great with all the dogs she has met and seems like she would love a doggie sibling to play with. She has been respectful of smaller and older dogs and could make a wonderful little sister. She also could do well as your one and only. Freckles has done well living with dog-savvy cats, but can sometimes get excited and think they're fun to chase, so she would do best with confident cats and proper management to make sure everyone gets along. Freckles could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Freckles has been doing great with her housetraining but will need time to adjust to a new routine and schedule. Her new family will need to be patient with her and expect some accidents. Freckles does well in her crate when home alone and overnight. She would benefit from continuing with her crate training as she is a puppy who will get into things when bored. She has done well being left alone for a few hours at a time. Freckles is recovering from a skin infection on her face. She doesn't require any further care and her infection is not contagious to other animals or people. Freckles is such a special girl who has gone through so much in her short life. She is oh-so-ready to meet her new family and give them so much love. If she sounds like to girl for you, submit an adoption application today! Freckle's adoption fee is $300. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
