Male Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
The name's Jack, Monterey Jack. Jack is estimated to be around 3 months old and is the life of the party! There is never a dull moment with him around and he would thrive with an active family looking for an adventurous little buddy. He is a total social butterfly who loves to be the center of attention. Jack weighs about 11lbs now and we estimate he will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Jack and the rest of his cheese-named siblings were transferred to us from another rescue, BONES. BONES is located in a rural part of Northern California where there is a large population of stray and feral dogs. They work to rescue mom and puppies and abandoned litters of puppies off the streets and send them to other rescues who can help get them adopted. Jack and his siblings were found as strays without their mom. They have been thriving in foster care ever since and are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one care they need. Jack is the goofy one of the group and always finds a way to make his foster family giggle. He is a little too smart for his own good and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. His favorite activities include wrestling with his siblings and making new friends. He would thrive with a family who wants a dog to join them on lots of adventures. He has been doing great with his basic manners training and needs a family dedication to continuing his training to help him be the best boy he can be. Jack loves others and would like another playful in his new home. He also could do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Jack has been raised with cats and could do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Jack could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Jack has been doing great with his house training, but is definitely still learning and his new family will need to be consistent about taking him out to help him learn. He is used to being a crate when his foster family is gone and sleeps through the night in a crate. He has always been with his siblings, so he would do best with a family who has a schedule that will allow them to slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Jack is such an adorable little dude and he can't wait to spend the rest of his life having fun with his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!
