Australian Shepherd (Long Coat)
Description:
The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org Buddy, born 1/2/2024, is a 10 month old Mini Aussie. Buddy is a gorgeous Chocolate Merle Mini. Buddy weighs about 22 pounds. Buddy was originally purchased from a breeder, but he was not a good fit for the family. They didn’t quite know what they were getting into. He is an energetic little guy. So they reached out to us. Buddy is a high energy dog, who loves to run and play with his foster doggie siblings. Buddy wrestles and plays chase with his foster dog siblings for hours every day. Buddy would not be good as an apartment dog. Buddy does get nervous in new situations and around new dogs, and new people, he needs some time to warm up. He needs friendly dogs that understand he is a bit shy at first. Buddy loves people, and attaches to his people very quickly. Buddy would be a great agility dog, if the time is spent with him to teach him. He is very athletic and playful. Buddy LOVES to play chase, and can run and run with the other dogs.He is sensitive if the other dogs show any bit of aggression, he gets his feelings hurt, so he needs happy playful friendly dogs! Buddy just wants love, play and more love. Buddy is still very much a puppy. Buddy is crate trained, and dog door trained. Buddy does love to sleep with his people, and sleeps great through the night. Buddy would do excel with an obedience course. It would help him and his new owner bond, and also help with his confidence and help him learn whats expected of him. Buddy is very smart and has so much potential, he just needs to learn to channel all that Aussie energy. Buddy’s Adoption fee: $600We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day. Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org
