Description:
The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org Ritzy, born 7/4/2024 is a Dachshund mix. Ritzy is a 7 month old red colored Dachshund mix. He is a sensitive little guy. He is a Mini Dachshund with long legs. Ritz weighed 11 pounds at his vet visit. Ritzy, like a little Ritz cracker. He is shy, and confused at why he lost his home. Ritzy came to the rescue with his brother from a family that could no longer keep them. Sadly they were very under socialized. They also had only been using potty pads, so were not house broken. The dogs had never been outside the home. When the family dropped them off at the foster home, the dogs would scream when we would touch them. We had our work cut out for us. Luckily, we have very well adjusted dogs and that’s helps. Ritzy has become such a happy puppy. He loves to play. He enjoys running and wrestling. Ritzy loves squeaky toys. What he loves even more to cuddle. Ritzy is hand shy, so we are working on letting him know that we won’t hurt him. Ritzy is working on crate training for housebreaking. He learning to use the doggie door in 5 seconds. He loves to sleep in the big bed. He does have separation anxiety, but that’s normal with a dog losing his home, and it goes away once they realize you will always come back for them. Ritzy will be shy again once he goes to a new family, but just as he settled in he will do the same. Ritz is looking for someone who understands that he is going to need a little love and a lot of patience in the beginning, but it will pay off in puppy kisses! Ritzy’s adoption fee: $350We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day. Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org
