Adoption Fee: $300.00 Coqueta (pronounced Ko-keeta) is an adorable black and tan, female German Shepherd who is certain to melt the hearts of all she meets. She about 9 months old and is currently around 50lbs, but she likely has a bit of growing to do! Not much is known about her background, but she came into her foster home seeming to already know how to use a doggie door. She is familiar with basic commands so continued training will be a great bonding experience with her new humans. She is a bit hesitant meeting new people, but once she warms up, she is your best pal – well, assuming you seal the deal by tossing a stuffy for her to retrieve! Coqueta loves her toys (durable stuffies are a favorite) and entertains herself by carrying them around the house and yard. She has been left loose in the home during the day with her foster pack when her foster mom goes into the office and has done remarkably well for such a youngster. At home, Coqueta is becoming more confident and learning the household routine as well as being part of a pack. She is starting to rough house with the resident German Shepherds and loves to engage in a game of fetch with her human. She gets puppy bursts of energy, but also settles down to nap while her foster mom is working. She is a certified “wiggle butt” and can get excitable, so she might be a bit much for very small children. True to her GSD nature, she likes to play with her mouth and is learning appropriate, gentler play. Coqueta sleeps nicely in the crate at night and has even started putting herself to bed. It seems she has minimal exposure outside of the home, so right now the world outside the front fence is a big, scary place. She is not confident on leash or in public places yet, but baby steps outside of her comfort zone and continued socialization and will have her enjoying all the outdoor activities that summer has to offer in no time! She lives in a foster home with kitties, so she may be able to live with dog savvy cats. Cats and small critters unknow.
