I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:3Meet Ballerina! This 1-year-old Belgian Shepherd Malinois mix is 40 pounds of grace, energy, and athleticism. True to her name, Ballerina is all about leaps, bounds, and pirouettes around the play yard—if there were Nutcracker auditions for dogs, she’d be a shoo-in! Ballerina is a spirited pup who loves a good game of chase and is always ready to show off her barkour skills. Toss her a ball, and she’ll happily entertain herself for hours—but alternate it with some treats, and you’ll have her doing “sit” and “down” like a pro in no time. She’s a great candidate for agility or other fun training activities where her smarts and energy can shine. While she’s more about action than cuddles, Ballerina will pause just long enough for quick pets before she’s back to her playful antics. She’s still figuring out how to interact with other dogs and gives polite corrections when needed, but learning so much in playgroups!
