Description:

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereDarla is a 8-month-old, 27-pound Border Collie mix who's beginning to come out of her shell. This shy girl was found as a stray, but she's learning to trust the people around her. While she’s a bit nervous in new situations, she’s shown a lot of progress in her foster home—she’s affectionate, loves a gentle pet, and is slowly exploring the world around her. Darla is a gentle soul who is looking for an experienced adopter who can help her build confidence and navigate her fears. She’s a little sensitive to cars and unfamiliar people, but she’s making steady strides. With the help of a dog buddy by her side, she's walking nicely on leash. She's also improving with potty and crate training. With time, patience, and love, this super sweet and gentle girl will make a loyal and affectionate companion. Darla’s ideal home would be a quiet environment with a backyard to explore, no kids, and ideally with another calm, confident dog to guide her through new experiences.
