I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:1Meet Primrose, a 4-year-old, 52-pound pittie mix with a gentle, soulful presence. This sweet, sensitive girl is affectionate with people and walks beautifully on leash, often checking in with her handler for reassurance. On a recent field trip, she showed her quiet bravery—taking in new sights with calm curiosity and grace. In the shelter, she’s known for being gentle and affectionate—she’ll even try to climb into your lap for extra closeness. She takes treats politely, knows “sit,” and is motivated to learn with the help of a kind, patient human. Primrose is independent with other dogs and has coexisted peacefully in small, calm groups. She may prefer life as a solo dog or with a mellow, well-matched friend. Because of her sensitive nature, she’d do best in a calm home with older kids and experienced adopters who can help her continue to build confidence.
