I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:2Skittles- the 2-year-old, 70lb sweetheart with floppy ears, expressive eyes, and an endearing little frown that makes you want to reassure her with your love. This gentle girl is still adjusting to her surroundings but is already showing her affectionate and playful side. Manners pro: Automatically sits for treats, waits patiently, and takes them politely. Knows “sit” and “down.” Sweet and snuggly: Seeks comfort through gentle interactions—leans in for pets, rests her head on your lap, and invites butt scritches. Casual fetcher: Brings the ball back for a few rounds but loses interest quickly. Loving gestures: Looks at you with her soulful eyes and may spin around to give you a gentle face sniff or even sneak in a kiss. Building confidence: Often startles at unexpected movements but is learning to trust and feel safe. Playful spirit: Enjoys playgroup, using exaggerated play bows to engage with other dogs. Leash work in progress: Can walk nicely but also pulls strongly at times. Skittles would thrive with a patient adopter who can help her continue to build confidence.
