Female Dog, Chihuahua
Chihuahua
Description:
Looks like: Chihuahua Female, 13 years old, 6 pounds Sweet little Violet certainly aspires to the finer things in life: plenty of snuggles, sleeping under a warm blanket, and snooping around the sunny side of the yard. She really loves being close to her person, either hanging out in a cozy lap, snoozing cuddled up behind someone's legs, or being carried around the house. At her foster home she has also discovered the pleasures of yummy food and she now gets very excited around mealtime, frequently showing off with a dramatic little dance on her back legs to get attention. She has also learned that going for walks is not so much her thing anymore, but she still loves to see the world from the comfort of someone's arms or from the passenger seat in the car. She is respectful with other dogs as well as cats, mostly by staying out of the way, but she does not have any known experience with children. Violet is receiving medical care through our vet clinic that will need to be continued in her adoptive home. She recently had a large mammary mass removed and has recovered beautifully, but still needs subcutaneous fluids on a weekly basis. Her adopters would need to be comfortable administering fluids at home or set up appointments with their veterinarian. Violet is a very good patient and not squeamish about receiving this treatment. This mature little gal would love nothing more than to be a perfectly sweet companion and to share a peaceful and quiet home with her special humans. Violet came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services as a medical rescue after being picked up as a stray. Her guardian was located, but they were unable to continue caring for her due to her medical needs.
