Female Dog, Border Collie
Border Collie / Belgian Shepherd Malinois
Description:
Border Collie mix, female 7 years oldWe thought we had found the perfect home for Chyna, and so happy for her! And now, we're sorta back to square one. There is no reason Chyna should be in recue! She's great with other dogs and loves everyone she meets. We're just looking for leader owners! Chyna is a combination of some of the best breeds out there and she is just regal. Beautiful black with her white chest and feet to belie some Border Collie. Her narrow muzzle and big ears scream Malinois! But she's on the smaller side, almost Kelpie looking. You might want to meet Chyna! She's really something! Black Malinois/Border Collie/Shepard. Chyna has all the right stuff! We think she’s around 7 years old, but she may be younger. Regardless, she’s a fully adult dog. We got Chyna from the Palmdale Shelter, she had been left by her owners on their way out of town, moving... She lives with us at the rescue in a huge enclosure, and sleeps in a straw filled dog-loo. She has free range of the property as long as I am home. She's never more than a soft call of her name away. Chyna is very obedient and has great recall, she also comes to a coaches whistle. She'll walk on a leash, but we don't do that often. Chyna was adopted for a few months. It's a shame when a dog isn't started out right in a home. her new family adored her! Too much. Chyna saw an opportunity. Became the protector of Mom in the home, and buddies with Dad. But she looked at their older teenage son as the help or someone beneath her... that never works out well... their relationship went south. Even though this young man would have loved nothing more than to be in her orbit. It needed to start out that way. Chyna was ranked up high in the pack much too soon, affording her the opportunity to pick and choose her people. Every human in the home, needs to be a pack leader of the canines in the home.
