Update (6/21): It's official, Nutmeg is a Genius! She had her first 15 minute formal leash training session and she basically nailed it. Another session or two and she'll be an expert! We've uploaded the videos, foster mom says they're not the best quality but its tricky to walk/control leash, video, and avoid mailboxes at the same time! :o) She is also gaining confidence as she progresses in her training. This girl is special. ------- Nutmeg (aka Nutty or Nut) is as smart as a whip and sweet as honey! Speaking of a whip, her constantly wagging tail can act as one as well. She's an energetic girl who is learning her manners and commands exceptionally quickly (she already knows to sit and wait for her food and wait for "okay" prior to going through doors or gates). Nutmeg is crate trained and potty trained, sleeps through the night with no problems, and is perfect in the car. She loves to be near her person and meet new humans, her favorite activity is chewing a bone, she does play fetch and is working on her drop-it but has nailed the eye contact to initiate the throw, and she loves giving kisses. She is a bit unsure of herself/the world, as she was an only puppy, and would probably thrive with a confident older brother to show her "how to dog" and teach her the the ropes. But she can be an only dog as well - when foster mom is away from her living space, she is quiet and completely trustworthy (does not chew or get into anything). She would be perfect for an active family because she is very athletic and spirited. And her foster mom thinks she could learn just about anything (agility or other hobbies) , she's one of the very smartest puppies she's had!
