Male Dog, Border Collie

Border Collie / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Geranium!-4 month old male border collie x pyrenees mix!-Anticipated to be an XL sized dog (likely between 80 and 100lbs!). At four months old they are currently the same size as their mother-Surrendered to the Shelter after previous guardian was unable to continue caring for-Previously lived in a home with their mother dog, father dog, chickens, sheep and horses-When strangers would come over, they would bark to alert that they were there but then would become friendly and affectionate. This behavior can be fairly typical for livestock guardian breed dogs but may not be a great fit for all types of households. ******Has been around siblings, and can sometimes pick on her smaller realtives. -Has seen cats on the property and would bark and growl at them, seeming to be fearful of them-Outdoors only in previous home. Will need patience in the transition into their new home as a lot of human-centric things are new to them such as walking on a leash and house trainingNow through December 17th, BISSELL Pet Foundations is sponsoring reduced adoption fees and we are participating! Adoption fees for all cats and dogs are reduced to $50.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
