Meet Leia!-2 year old spayed female Australian Kelpie mix (Australian Kelpie mix is simply a guess!)-Weighs 54lbs-Previously lived in a quiet home with a couple and their teenage children-Has lived with a small breed dog (maltipoo) and did well-History of enjoying the company of other dogs and playing with them-Has befriended dogs at the Shelter including her current Shelter dog friend Wyatt!-Crated when left alone in previous home-History of being house trained in previous home Leia is hanging out in a foster home to take a break from the Shelter. She is in a foster home as the only pet with a couple. They report: `We have had Leia one week. She now approaches us for affection. She loves to cuddle on the couch as well as play fetch and tag in the backyard and the house. She is very easy to walk. She sleeps with us every night. She is house trained and goes out to potty in the same spot in the yard. She has been perfect in the house, never any mischief. I have left her for 3.5 hours and she stays on her couch (her safe place). She is fine passing other dogs on a walk. She sits and shakes.`*Leia's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor*Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
