Description:

Moddy was found, stray, by a good Samaritan in a rural area outside Fresno. The good Samaritan held onto her for two nights and observed that she did well riding in the car, played with another dog and did not have any accidents in the house. At the Shelter, staff have observed that Moddy is energetic and friendly with people. She has demonstrated some wanderlust, though - she has, impressively jumped 6 ft chain link fences to go say “hi” to other people and dogs. With her energy level as well as the observed escape tendencies – Moddy will need a dog savvy guardian who will keep her safe when she's not securely indoors, and provide above average mental and physical stimulation. We do not have any history of Moddy with cats or children. Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchips.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
