Female Dog, American Bulldog

American Bulldog / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Phoenix!Phoenix recently spend some time in a foster home with a dog savvy adult and her resident, male dog. The foster reports that she did great in the car and was very well behaved on the trip to the house. She met the resident male dog and was polite. Her foster parent took her on a walk around the Santa Cruz Harbor. She did great on leash and walked nicely past dogs (small and large) and was gentle with people who she said “hi” to along the way. She was chill as a cucumber with bikers riding by and understanding that not every stranger wanted to be her friend. Back at the house, Phoenix enjoyed hanging out in the yard and sunbathing. She also snuggled up with her foster parent and gently rested her big head in her lap. We do not have any history of Phoenix with cats or children. Based on Shelter observations, Phoenix appears to be house trained but may need a brush up in her adoptive home. Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchips. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
