Description:
Meet Prince, a handsome, jet black, herding-type dog. Prince came to the Shelter as a stray. A good Samaritan had reported him hanging around and wanted him to be safe. Animal control went out and brought him to safety. Upon arrival to the Shelter, Prince was observed to be shy but quickly warmed up, primarily in the presence of other dogs. He brightens up and really shows his adolescent, playful self when around other dogs â romping around, interacting with new people and over-all a totally different dog. When comfortable, staff describe him as melting into them when petting. Due to the positive effect other dogs have on Prince â a home with another dog is highly recommended for Prince. With force free training and patience, Prince will be your future âprince charmingâ. Prince hung out in a short term foster that had cats and is recommended to go to a feline free home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
