Meet Swatch, the Heinz 57 adolescent pup (our best guess is a beagle x whippet mix)! Swatch came to the Shelter as a stray with a pretty harness on. We were certain someone would come looking for her but her stray hold came and went. Staff took extra attention to giving her extra loving and attention and slowly but surely â Swatch blossomed. Upon first interaction, Swatch can be fearful but after a bit of time, she warms up to new people. Once she is comfortable, she enjoys playing fetch with squeaky toys and tennis balls and snuggles into laps. Swatch is still perfecting her life skills and manners so a patient adopter who will commit to R+ / force free training is required to help her learn and bond in the new home. A home with another dog may be a fit provided there is a meet and greet at the Shelter before adoption. We do not have any history with cats or children. Swatch would enjoy an active adopter who will take her on daily walkies and for play sessions.Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
