Female Dog, Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retriever / Mixed

Description:

Sweet, sociable 6-year-old Vader could easily exist on a steady diet of kisses and cuddles in her especially attentive foster home. Having settled into her new life after her original owner passed away, the 29-pound black beauty adores her fosters and is absolutely amazing with their 10-month old baby! Vader loves snuggling with her foster mom, resting her head on her, rolling over for belly rubs, showing her paw for more love, and lying on top of her when they go to bed at night. She gets along famously with her larger doggy foster friend although she’s not fond of cats, enjoys going for walks, walking well on leash, playing with stuffed toys (she likes to rip out the stuffing), chewing bones, playing fetch and taking rides in the car. Mainly motivated by food, Vader currently knows “come,” “sit,” “stay” and “no,” is learning “shake” and “down,” and while she’s easy to please with any kind of treat, her favorites are nibbs and peanut butter. Never crated, honing her doggy manners and diligently at work on her house-training, Vader will thrive in a loving family, perhaps with another playful pup, that will perfect her manners and complete her training, including her commands, in exchange for her own enduring loyalty and love. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
