Description:
Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application. Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Sweet Mama Honey (who had a whopping 10 puppies on the streets a few months ago!) is ready for the good life in Colorado. This girl is quiet, house trained, calm, and loves to get pets and be near her people. She is as sweet as her name, and great in her pen! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Honey's foster says she is the most loving, patient, calm, and wonderful gal. She is quiet as a mouse, adoring of pets and attention, and is great with both people and other dogs. She truly is a gem, and will make the most wonderful addition to a family!Story | Honey was rescued after being found living on the streets in Texas just as she started giving birth to her puppies. A local individual noticed how pregnant she was, and MHLM jumped into action, locating her just days after she gave birth to 10 sweet little babies! She has been in a Texas based foster home, and now that her puppies are grown and ready to start their next adventure, Honey gets to, too! Other Dogs | Honey does wonderfully with other dogs, and great along great with pups of all sizes. She would do well in a home independently, or with a pup pal! Cats | Honey has not been cat tested, but her foster thinks she could do well with a proper introduction. It's unknown at present! Children | Honey loves little humans, and would do well with kiddo siblings, as long as they understand boundaries and give lots of snuggles and kisses!Training | Honey has been SO busy being a mama, she hasn't had much time for training. Honey's training is in progress, but she is house trained, pen trained, and does well when left alone. Leash | Honey walks decently on a leash - your typical lab, but with a bit more of a mosey! Activity Level | Low to moderate. It depends on the day and the moment!Health Notes | Honey is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting sweet Honey.Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
