Description:
Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application. Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Silver's fosters can confirm he is the ultimate Good Boy! Silver is incredibly devoted and thrives on companionship. He is doing best in a home where someone is around often, as he is still building confidence when being left alone. In his foster home, he is doing great with a work-from-home setup, and with continued support, he is learning to be more independent. Silver would do best in a home with space to settle in, as he is not the best fit for an apartment right now. Silver is the kind of dog who finds comfort being near his humans and makes a wonderful, loyal sidekick for someone looking for a true best friend. Gentle, adventurous Silver is hopeful that the perfect family is out there looking for him, as much as he is looking for them! He will make the ultimate family dog and best friend - kind, fun, and with a wonderful manner about him, he is the whole package! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | A gentle giant, this boy is... calm, loving, and a GREAT dog. He would be an amazing family dog for anyone, he loves dogs and all people. He has greeted all guests very calmly, no barking or jumping, not even when the door bell rings! He's a typical lab that loves meeting new people and snuggling!Story | This boy was found as a stray in Roswell, NM, and couldn't be more excited to make his way to the mountains of Colorado! Other Dogs | Silver loves other dogs and can be in any home with other dogs. He thrives in their company and is happy to play. Cats | Unknown - Silver hasn't interacted with a kitty yet, so the team is unsure about how he would do in a home with one. Children | Silver's foster has shared that he'd be great dog for children, he's very calm and easy going. He loves pets, snuggles, and lots of play! He's met school aged children and did great!Training | Silver knows his basic commands like Sit, Lay Down, Paw, and Come. He is practing Stay and Crate, and is motivated by food and praise. He would love to learn some new tricks as well! At night and while his humans are away, he is working on his crate training and staying quiet.Leash | Silver walks well on a leash, but is very excitable when he sees squirrels and when meeting new friends (your typical lab!) Activity Level | Silver has a normal activity level for a lab, he isn't high energy but he will hang with other dogs and play if he has the opportunity. He loves to play fetch in the backyard with sticks and balls and brings them all the way back!
