Description:
Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application. Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Bouncy, balanced Elle is all the fun of a puppy, with all the snuggly energy of a pocket pal! While she has had a rought start to life, and is recovering from a bite, she is adventurous, adoring, and can't wait to find her forever family in Colorado! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Elle is sweet, snuggly, and happy as can be to be around people and her foster siblings. She loves to explore, and is all things adorable! Interests and hobbies include finding teeny crevices to sneak into when it's nap time and she doesn't want to be disturbed by a sibling, nibbling on the tags of all pillows in the home (she doesn't discriminate - if it's attached to a pillow, it's going in her mouth!), giving sweet licks and kisses and sneaking a nibble in on your nose here and there, and snuggling with humans, puppies, her foster dogs - you name it, it if is warm and she can nuzzle against it she will! As mentioned above, this sweet lady has been recovering from a dog bite - although you would never know this happened based on her demeanor and personality! The only sign that points to her early injury is her lower (third) eyelid on the right side which is raised and is covering a portion of her eye. This is cosmetic and hasn't slowed little Elle down in the slightest. It's simply more of her to love, and is what helped keep her eye protected and safe!Story | Elle was rescued with her nine (!!) siblings and mama days after her mom gave birth on the streets in Houston, TX. A concerned citizen noticed their pregnant mama Honey, and immediately put out a plea for rescue. MHLM jumped into action, and a dedicated foster drove over four hours and searched for the family in order to save them. Since her rescue, she has been in a foster home in Houston before recently making her way to Colorado! Other Dogs | Elle is great with other dogs! In addition to her nine siblings and mama, this girl has been in foster with other pups and does well with all of them. She is sweet as can be, and learning the ropes from bigger dogs. She would love a doggy sibling! She does very well when playing with other dogs and reads cues well for her very young age!Cats | Elle has not been cat tested, but due to her age and sweet temperament, her fosters think she would do well in adapting to a house with kitties. Children | Elle is great with kiddos and would love to be in a house with little humans! She loves to nap, be held, and play. Training | In progress - Elle is still very young, and is taking training day by day. She is working on both potty and crate training, and is learning sit! She is a quick and cautious learner. She will observe something a few times (like, watching how a sibling will go up the stairs or step down when going into the back yard) and once she feels comfortable and confident she will try something out. She is doing very well with sleep and potty training. She is sleeping soundly from 10pm-7am, and will wait until removed from her crate or play pen and placed outside to potty!Leash | Elle is still little, and isn't walking independently on a leash yet. She will learn as her training progresses! Activity Level | Moderate - Elle is your typical lab pup who enjoys naps and exploring!Health Notes | Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
