Description:
Imagine being abandoned with your siblings and still maintaining your sweet disposition and eager curiosity about the world. That is what Amanda, an adorable 4-and-a-half-month-old labrador retriever mix, will bring to the lucky forever family that gives her a forever home.Amanda and her siblings were found in that crate in Puerta Rico but had the good fortune to be rescued so they could come to Connecticut to start new lives. Amanda is a cute girl with brown and white fur and some polka dots! She is currently 16 pounds and though her breed background is a bit mysterious, it is estimated she will be a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds) when she is fully grown. Like all puppies, Amanda is full of playful spirits and loves to go for walks and have fun with her siblings and other dogs. Children delight her as well. It is not known whether she will enjoy cat companions.Amanda is working on her house, leash, and crate training. Puppies and rescue dogs will have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, new family and new routines. Daily lessons with consistent positive reinforcement will teach Amanda all she needs to know. Structure and routine are very important for puppies, along with safe spaces where they cannot get into trouble eating or chewing things like cords and poisons. It is a big wide world out there full of adventure and friends and Amanda just needs the right family and friends to join her on her marvelous adventure so if you will open your heart and home Amanda will fill it with love.*When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Amanda is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.
