Male Dog, Hound

Hound / Terrier / Mixed

Description:

He is all ears! Ready to be your friend as he is a sweet and playful guy. His name is Pancake. He likes everyone he meets. At just a year, he has a lot of life to live. He weighs about 48 pounds and is pretty much done growing. His short coat is a black and tan mix, accenting his really deep brown eyes. Handsome, is he not?Lucky Pancake, an animal control officer found him running loose down a road and took him to the shelter. No one claimed him. He likes the company of other dogs and children. He has demonstrated that he can walk well on a leash and is not destructive in his kennel. Pancake loves to play with other dogs. It is unknown if he has ever met a cat.He is a hound mix, not sure what else. Hounds come in a variety of types. But their personalities can be similar as they are known to be inquisitive, friendly, and intelligent. They are often lively dogs with plenty of energy, as well as being agile and of course, great trackers when using their sense of smell. Pancake wants to please and, in the process, he has worked hard to master his house and crate training. He is an exceptional boy who is eager to learn even more. Although Pancake is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. He would appreciate a fenced in yard where he could burn off some of his energy. Toys that give him mental stimulation and/or physical activity will keep him entertained. Lots of time with his new family will be most important. Are you willing to give Pancake a chance? Yes? Then, read on! The adoption fee for Pancake is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
