Description:
When Reba McEntire turned up at the shelter as a stray she had a registered microchip. After over a month there and hearing nothing from an owner she made her way to us. Unfortunately radio silence is not the most uncommon occurrence in these situations, though we are always hopeful to reunite a family. We got Reba all settled as a Swampie and thought, what the heck, it wouldn’t hurt to try one more time. This time we got a reply. Turns out Reba got loose while her dad was in the hospital and during that time her owner unfortunately passed away. None of the family was able to take Reba once she was found, so she will remain a Swampie and we will do what we do best! Reba’s microchip was last edited in 2018, so we believe she was with her dad for at least the past six years and it is obvious in so many little ways she was loved in that home. Reba walked right into her foster home like the queen she is and settled in. Totally house trained, knows all the house manners, and stole the prime spot in the bed all on day one. Reba is awesome and resilient, easy going, and while she loves everyone she gravitated right to her foster dad, maybe taking some comfort from a past memory in her previous life. Needless to say foster dad has been affectionately deemed Reba’s, “hubby” and Reba has no issue making foster mom the third wheel. Reba is estimated 9 years old and is a healthy gal. She is great with other dogs and plays and runs with her foster bros like any younger dog would. She also cuddles like the best of them and is an avid couch pup. Let’s help Reba land the forever home of her dreams. Tell all your friends, check out our story for more cuteness, and if you think that Reba’s perfect home might just be yours - reach out!
