Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed

Description:

A SWEET & GENTLE GIRL: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 36 lbs. Hello, my name is Ansley – a pretty girl with a beautiful, silky coat! I was rescued from animal control by Mostly Mutts and have been soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers ever since. I now hear it is time to find my new family, and I am soooo excited! I’m ready to start my ‘happily ever after’ in a loving home – perhaps YOURS? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t really want to play, I was interested and didn’t show any aggression. I also did well with the 5-year-old Yorkie in my temporary foster home, and she was fine with me taking over all her favorite places, lol. I like when dogs are mellow, so if you have a more mellow dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I really liked the teenagers in my temporary foster home and my do well with kids a bit younger than that, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I was initially pretty stressed when I arrived at the shelter, but I’m settling in more each day. The volunteers who come to spend time with me describe me as ‘sweetness from head to toe’. I was a bit nervous for my shelter bath, but – being a good sport, I tolerated it. In a temp. foster home I visited, I understood which items in the house were mine, so I didn’t bother any of my foster’s things. I also didn’t beg when she was eating. I did bark a few times to alert her to unfamiliar noises I was hearing outside, but I quieted down quickly. I weaved between her legs trying to get affection from her, so it’s best I don’t live with anyone with mobility issues. In another temp. foster home, I was weary of the man and did some barking and growling when he came home at night. If there are men in my new home, please be patient with me and let me know I am safe and loved. My foster described me as ‘sweet and gentle’ and said I ‘wasn’t surprised by much (vacuum, etc.)’ and only cried if I was alone – I definitely love being with my people. I’m super cute and super affectionate with a calm and low-key nature. A perfect combination of lovable, playful and smart – I’m ready and waiting to be your new best friend. / My energy level is 5-7 – with fun short bursts of play time being my specialty. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer. I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘leave it’, ‘place’, and ‘come’ commands. I look forward to learning even more, so check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. In my temporary foster home I damaged a crate, but had very good house manners without a crate, so perhaps I won’t need one. / I've had just a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule. In my temp. foster home, I had good potty habits and whined at the door to notify my foster that I needed to go and I did great in another temporary foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES: Spending time with the volunteers is just the best, because I get the chance to go out and roll in the grass (and snow … and on you!). Then, I can give you kisses and nose nudges to request more attention – which I love! I enjoy playing with toys and getting those great belly rubs. Toss a tennis ball my way, and I'll jump up to catch it with precision! After playing, I enjoy curling up for a cozy nap on the couch. / I’m not a fan of the busy traffic around the shelter and am much happier and more relaxed playing in the back yard. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’ve been experiencing some shelter anxiety, so I’m currently taking an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with that, I may be able to be weaned off of it once I’m settled in my new home. I am looking for a great home with a loving furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
