Description:

READY FOR THE LOVE I DESERVE: Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 45 lbs. Hi, my name’s Casey! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and – boy – am I glad to be here! I was in pretty rough shape when I arrived, with hair loss on my ears from fly bites, I had fleas, and I was emaciated, too. With the help of Mostly Mutts, I’ve returned to a healthy weight and my fur has grown back in nicely – and I’m back to being my best self! I am currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did well, though I tend to bark a bit at first before I start playing with them, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be friends! / I hyper-fixate on cats and should not live with them. / I liked the 12-year-old boy who took me on a day trip with his dad. We had fun at the park, and I was sweet with him while he gave me hugs, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Though initially scared, I have gained quite a bit of confidence at the shelter and in the prison/foster training program. I am very sweet and friendly with the volunteers. I’m a people dog – very social and affectionate. The volunteers have noticed how smart and focused I am. I was a perfect angel for my bath, thorough ear cleaning and nail trim – almost as if I knew help had finally arrived for me and my fortune had turned. At the shelter and on my walks, due to being so skinny when I arrived, I have consumed a few items that are not meant to be eaten. My trainer has taught me the ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands to help with this in the future. As I settle into my new home, please keep an eye on me while I adjust and learn what’s okay to munch on! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though at the shelter I have some #2 accidents – I did not in the prison/foster training program. / I had some accidents on the shelter schedule but have learned to signal when I need to go potty in the prison/foster training program. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy being with people and just want to be loved. Playing with toys or just hanging out – I am ready to be your loyal companion. I recently discovered that I love playing fetch with tennis balls and I love treats. I’m also great in the car, so let’s go on lots of adventures together! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a loving furever home with a great family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
