A SUPER SWEET FRIEND: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 24 lbs. Hi, my name is Mills! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. I’ve had a great time with the volunteers here and even spent time in a short break foster home during the recent snow event. Now, I am ready to go to a great furever home – snow or no snow! Plan to meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came to Mostly Mutts with a dog friend and have helped him adjust to shelter life. I also enjoyed the company of some dogs in my temp foster homes, but I’ve disliked three different dogs I met while at the shelter and in temp. foster homes. I seem to pick and choose which dogs I like, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet with my trainer to see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I really liked the nice 9-year-old girl in my temporary foster home, so kids around that age in my new home may be a good fit for me. Let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super friendly and affectionate guy with a calm and gentle demeanor. In my short break foster homes, I enjoyed hanging out with the people and being away from the shelter for a bit. I’ve had some kennel stress at the shelter, so I appreciate the opportunity to be in a calmer environment. I was just a bit shy around some of the men I met in a temp. foster home, so please be patient with me if I am a bit slow to warm up to men in my new home. I’ve overheard the volunteers saying that I’m an absolute sweetie pie and I like that! I was also very good for my bath and have the most expressive eyes – so cute. / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer. I’m a pretty smart fellow and know the following commands: ‘sit’ (I do a great one), ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ and I greet friendly strangers without jumping and walk nicely on my leash, too. I also respond well to a firm ‘no’ when needed. I’m ready to learn even more! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in one temporary foster home as well and I kept it clean and dry. In another temp. foster home, I didn’t really want to sleep in there at night, so I may just need an adjustment period in my new home. / I will need you to help me with my potty habits, as I’ve done a bit of marking as well a few #2 accidents – both in one short break foster home and at the shelter. In another temp. foster home, I had no accidents at all – yay me! I’ve just been neutered, so that will help with the marking over a little time. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I’ve shown some interest in toys, so perhaps you can show me how much fun they can be. I also enjoy using my nose to investigate things. I also ride great in the car, so let’s go explore some new places together! I enjoyed rolling in the grass and receiving belly rubs at the park and shopping at Home Depot on a recent day trip. I am a ‘people dog’ who wants to enjoy their company, so get ready for some snuggles and fun times with your new best friend. / I can be startled by quick movements, but I think that it will go away once settled in my new home. Bikes and strollers at the park were new to me, but other than that, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
