Keep calm and woof on.

Female Dog,
Unknown Breed
Description:
Nova was found on the side of a country road in an area where many dogs had been dumped to fend for themselves. She came running up to my husband and hugged his leg. We knew we didn't have the space for another dog long term but we had to give the timid pup a chance to find a loving home. We immediately took her in, treated her fleas, and brought her to our vet for shots and heartworm preventative. We looked into surrendering her to a shelter but we found most places in our area weren't accepting surrenders for a while due to space, so we decided to try rehoming her ourselves! During Novas time with us she's learned her name, decent recall, crate training, sit, shake, and walking on a leash. We've discovered she loves chasing balls and squirrels. She's also dog (and chicken) friendly and would thrive in a home that has another active dog in need of a playmate. We haven't been able to confirm if she's cat friendly and she can be jumpy so we dont recommend her for a home with kids under 8(ish) years old. She walks very well on a leash and rarely barks. She would make a great hiking/camping/jogging buddy because shes always happy to be included in whatever you're doing. Her main struggle has been her anxiety. She rolls onto her belly and goes completely limp if she thinks she's in trouble. She loves pets and attention but she will need a loving, patient owner that can give her confidence back. Our vet estimated her to be 2 years old so she's fully grown (35lbs) but we are unsure of what happened to her before we found her. She is also intelligent so she will need some toys to play with and chew when not asleep or playing with you. She's very food motivated so she can be trained with treats but she also will be very curious of anything edible dropped on the floor. **** Breed: Mixed - medium sized **** Pet Link: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2178965&flag=1
